The Everyday Kit includes a 250ml Liquid Retainer and Denture Cleaner with a small measuring cup, a dual head retainer cleaning brush and the U shaped retainer cleaning and storage case. It covers brushing, soaking, storing and cleaning for retainers, aligners and clip in veneers.
How do I clean my retainer with the Everyday Kit?
Gently brush your retainer with the dual head brush using lukewarm water, then soak it in the case with Blakmint cleaner mixed with water. Rinse before wearing. Brushing first helps lift plaque and daily build up so the cleaner can work across the whole surface.
Is this kit suitable for Invisalign® and clear aligners?
Yes. The Blakmint Liquid Retainer Cleaner and U shaped case are suitable for retainers, clear aligners, Invisalign® trays, whitening trays, night guards, sports mouthguards, partial dentures and clip in veneers.
Is the retainer cleaner persulfate free?
Yes. Blakmint Liquid Retainer and Denture Cleaner contains no persulfates and uses glacial acetic acid for effective everyday cleaning, so there are no fizzing tablets, cloudy residue or daily sachets. It is a UK registered medical device made in Finland.
How long does the liquid retainer cleaner last?
With the case included in this kit you only need 4ml of cleaner mixed with 36ml of water per fill, so one 250ml bottle is designed to last up to 12 months.
How many days can I reuse the cleaning solution?
You can reuse the same cleaning solution for up to 6 days when it is used as directed, which means less waste, less plastic and lower cost than replacing cleaning tablets every day.
What does the 99.99% bacteria reduction claim mean?
The 99.99% figure is based on ASTM E2315 time-kill testing against a mixed bacterial inoculum of P. aeruginosa, E. coli, S. aureus and E. hirae, with 99.99% reduction measured at 20 minutes and at least 99.99% at later time points. Results relate to the sample tested.
What size is the retainer case and will my retainer fit?
The case measures 8cm wide by 3cm high, with an internal depth of 2.3cm per side. Please check these measurements against your retainer to make sure it fits before ordering.
Is the retainer case leak proof?
The case has a silicone sealed lid and is leak resistant, but it is not leak proof. Keep it upright when it is filled with liquid and empty it before transporting.
What is special about the dual head retainer cleaning brush?
The flat head cleans larger surfaces and the round head reaches the grooves, edges and tight areas that a normal toothbrush can miss. It is small enough to carry in a bag, and should be replaced every 3 months for the best cleaning.
