What is Blakmint Liquid Retainer Cleaner?
Blakmint is a concentrated, persulfate-free liquid cleaner for retainers, aligners, dentures, night guards and other removable oral appliances. Mix it with water in your case, soak, and rinse, no fizzing tablets, no cloudy residue, just a clean appliance every time.
How is Blakmint different from cleaning tablets?
Tablets are single-use, fizz with persulfates, and often leave a cloudy film behind. Blakmint's liquid formula is reusable for up to 6 days per mix, contains no persulfates, and dissolves gunk completely, with none of the daily waste.
How long does one bottle last?
One 250ml bottle covers up to 5 months of cleaning. Used as a 10% solution it lasts up to 5 months. Used with the Blakmint case you only need 4ml of cleaner mixed with 36ml of water per fill, which is designed to give you up to 12 months of cleaning in total.
Is Blakmint safe for all retainers and appliances?
Yes. Blakmint is designed for retainers, clear aligners, Invisalign® trays, whitening trays, night guards, sports mouthguards, dentures, clip-in veneers and partial dentures, one bottle covers everything.
How do I use Blakmint?
Fill your case or a cup with water, add the measured amount of Blakmint liquid, and soak your appliance for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly before wearing. We don't recommend soaking overnight every time, but doing so occasionally is fine. The same mix can be reused for up to 6 days.
Is Blakmint safe for ultrasonic cleaners?
Yes, unlike fizzing tablets, Blakmint's still liquid formula reaches every surface inside an ultrasonic cleaner without foaming or blocking contact, so you get a genuinely thorough clean.
Does Blakmint contain persulfates?
No. Blakmint is 100% persulfate-free. Persulfates are a known skin and respiratory irritant found in most fizzing tablets, Blakmint's formula cleans effectively without them.
What does the 99.99% bacteria reduction claim mean?
Based on ASTM E2315 time-kill testing against a mixed bacterial inoculum of P. aeruginosa, E. coli, S. aureus and E. hirae. 99.99% reduction measured at 20 minutes; ≥99.99% at subsequent measured time points. Results relate to the sample tested.
