Before Use – Inspect Your Oral Appliance

Before each use, carefully inspect your retainer, aligner, mouthguard, or denture.
Do not use this product if the appliance shows signs of damage or excessive wear, including:

Cracks, holes, warping, or rough edges
Whitening, cloudiness, or discolouration
Brittle texture or thinning areas

Using cleaning products on a worn or damaged appliance may increase the risk of further deterioration.

Age & Wear

Over time, materials used in removable oral appliances may weaken or degrade.
Some clear plastic retainers may show signs of wear after approximately 6 months of regular use, depending on material, usage, and care.

Older or worn appliances may be more sensitive to prolonged soaking. Always assess the condition of your appliance before cleaning.

After Use

If you notice softening, discolouration, material changes, or damage, discontinue use immediately and consult your dentist or orthodontist before further cleaning.

Professional Advice

Always follow the care instructions provided by your dentist or orthodontist.
Oral appliances are made from different materials and may respond differently to cleaning products.

Storage

Store the product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

Use with Ultrasonic Cleaning Devices

Our cleaning solution may be used in ultrasonic cleaning devices. When using an ultrasonic cleaner, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Ultrasonic machines are designed for short cleaning cycles only. The tank should be emptied, rinsed, and dried after each use.
Do not leave liquid stored inside an ultrasonic device between uses. Only use with UKCA complaint registered medical devices.

Mixing Instructions

Always prepare the solution using a 10% cleaning solution to 90% lukewarm water ratio.

Examples:

Standard glass or larger container:
Mix 10 ml cleaning solution with 90 ml lukewarm water
Small container (e.g. Blakmint cleaning case):
Mix 4 ml cleaning solution with 36 ml lukewarm water

Ensure the appliance is fully submerged.

Solution Reuse & Storage

For best hygiene, we recommend replacing the prepared solution every 2–3 days.

When stored in a clean container with a securely closed lid (such as our cleaning case), the prepared solution may be reused for up to 6 days, provided the container and seal are cleaned and dried regularly.

For extended reuse:

Periodically empty the container
Wash the container and seal with warm soapy water
Allow all parts to dry completely before refilling

Cleaning Instructions

Routine Cleaning (Recommended):

Soak the appliance for 5–20 minutes.
This is the recommended method for daily use.

Occasional Extended Soaking:

Overnight soaking may be carried out occasionally if required, for example where heavier buildup is present.

Extended soaking should not be used as part of a regular cleaning routine, as prolonged exposure may increase the risk of material dulling or wear over time.

After soaking, rinse the appliance thoroughly with clean water before placing it in the mouth.

Gentle brushing is recommended as part of the cleaning process
If using our cleaning case, please follow the case care and cleaning instructions, including regular washing and drying.

Product usability *

Concentrated formula lasts up to 3 months when used daily or up to 10 months inconjunction with our case.
Prepared solution can be reused for 6 days.
Usable for at least 2 years once opened and stored out of direct sunlight.
Store in a closed bottle, at room temperature, away from sunlight.
If stored properly, the product stays usable for up to 2 years.
If the product gets frozen, it is reusable even after thawing. However, remember to check that the packaging has not broken, and shake the bottle before use. The dye may precipitate to the bottom after freezing, but this is not harmful.
